Vintage ashtray from the iconic Stork Club in New York City with an one original complete oversized matchbook and another where some of the matches have been used. Also comes with a normal matchbook for a different NYC club from the same era.
The Stork Club was a famous haunt for the New York and Hollywood elite, open from 1928 to 1961. The club began as a speakeasy during the prohibition period and transitioned to its location on East 51st St.
This is my favorite version with a slot for the matchbook on top.
The ashtray is made of ceramic. Absolutely amazing condition for its age. A great piece of New York City history. The matchbook is a standard size, nice accompaniment to the tray.
The ashtray measures 5 1/4" in diameter x 1 1/2" tall. The oversized matchbooks measure about 4 1/4" x 3 1/2".
